Decadent Triple Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
4. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chunks.
5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn onto wire racks to cool completely.
8. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until simmering.
9. Remove from heat and pour over the dark chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
10. Once the cakes are cool, spread half of the ganache on top of one cake layer. Place the second layer on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining ganache.
11. Allow the ganache to set at room temperature for about 1 hour before serving.
Storage
Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
Reheating
To reheat, place a slice in the microwave for 10-15 seconds on medium power, or let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.
