Ingredients
16 oz elbow macaroni
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, forming a roux. Cook for 1 minute.
4. Gradually whisk in milk, ensuring no lumps form. Simmer until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
5. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
6. Add cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until fully melted and creamy.
7. Combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce, mixing well.
8. Transfer to prepared baking dish.
9. In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs with olive oil. Sprinkle evenly over the macaroni.
10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
11. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes or until heated through. Alternatively, microwave on medium power until warm.
