Classic Shrimp Tacos

Delight in the vibrant flavors of these Classic Shrimp Tacos, featuring perfectly seasoned shrimp nestled in warm corn tortillas, topped with a refreshing citrus slaw and creamy avocado.

Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
8 small corn tortillas
1 cup shredded cabbage
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 cup lime juice
1 avocado, sliced
1/4 cup sour cream
1 jalapeño, thinly sliced

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat and set aside.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
3. In a separate bowl, combine cabbage, cilantro, and lime juice to make the slaw. Toss well and set aside.
4. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
5. Assemble the tacos by placing some shrimp on each tortilla, followed by a spoonful of slaw, avocado slices, a dollop of sour cream, and a few slices of jalapeño. Serve immediately.

Storage

Store leftover shrimp and slaw in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Keep tortillas in a sealed bag or container at room temperature.

Reheating

To reheat the shrimp, place them in a skillet over low heat until warmed through. For the tortillas, warm them in a dry skillet before serving.
