Classic Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

A delightful twist on the traditional Philly Cheesesteak, this casserole version brings together all the flavors you love in a comforting, easy-to-make dish perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 cups shredded provolone cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup beef broth
4 cups cubed bread (preferably French bread)
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove the steak and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked steak, sautéed vegetables, shredded provolone, shredded mozzarella, heavy cream, and beef broth. Stir in the bread cubes and season with salt and pepper.
5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
7. Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Storage

Store the casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or place the entire casserole in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
