Classic Hamburger Casserole

A deliciously savory hamburger casserole that combines seasoned ground beef with tender pasta and rich tomato sauce, perfect for a quick family dinner.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
3. Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until onions are translucent.
4. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix well.
5. Stir in tomato sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
6. Meanwhile, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente.
7. Combine the cooked macaroni with the beef mixture, then transfer to a greased casserole dish.
8. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan on top.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
10. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until heated through.
