Classic Cucumber Salad

Ingredients

2 large cucumbers
1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

1. Peel the cucumbers and slice them thinly.
2. In a large bowl, combine the cucumber slices and red onion.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and black pepper until the sugar dissolves.
4. Pour the vinegar mixture over the cucumbers and onions, tossing to coat evenly.
5. Add the chopped dill and olive oil, and mix gently.
6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Best served cold, reheat not required.
