Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

These timeless cookies are a surefire hit at any holiday gathering. With crispy edges and chewy centers, they’re loaded with gooey chocolate chips and a hint of vanilla.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.
6. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto ungreased cookie sheets.
7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Reheating

Warm cookies in the oven at 300°F for about 5 minutes to rejuvenate their chewy texture.
