2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon swirl)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
6. In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup granulated sugar for the cinnamon swirl.
7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
8. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
9. Use the bottom of a glass to gently flatten each cookie, creating a swirl pattern.
10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
11. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
