Chocolate Yule Log
End your Christmas feast with a show-stopping Chocolate Yule Log. This traditional dessert features a rich chocolate sponge cake rolled with a velvety chocolate cream filling and finished with a snowy dusting of powdered sugar.

Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
4 large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup dark chocolate chips
2 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 15x10-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale, then stir in vanilla.
4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined.
5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 12-15 minutes.
6. Remove from oven and immediately roll the cake with the parchment paper. Let it cool completely.
7. For the filling, heat heavy cream until simmering and pour over chocolate chips, stirring until smooth and melted.
8. Unroll the cooled cake, spread the chocolate cream filling, and roll it back up without the parchment.
9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Storage
Store the yule log in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Bring the yule log to room temperature prior to serving for optimal texture.
