Chicken Marsala

Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian-American dish featuring tender pan-seared chicken breasts in a deeply flavorful Marsala wine sauce with earthy mushrooms. This easy-to-make recipe brings a touch of elegance to your dining table, perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup Marsala wine
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, shaking off the excess.
2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and become golden brown, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
5. Pour in the Marsala wine and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
6. Add the chicken broth and simmer for 10 minutes to reduce the sauce slightly.
7. Stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the chicken is heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
