Chesapeake Bay Delight Crab Cakes

Ingredients
1 lb fresh lump crab meat
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, gently combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, green onions, red bell pepper, panko bread crumbs, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
2. Form the mixture into 8 even-sized patties, taking care not to compress them too tightly.
3. Chill the crab cakes for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator to help them hold together during cooking.
4. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until the butter is melted and foamy.
5. Gently place the crab cakes in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
6. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels before serving.
Storage
Store leftover crab cakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat crab cakes in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through, or in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
