Caramelized Walnut Banana Bread

Ingredients

3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup whole milk
1 cup walnuts
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
2. In a skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add walnuts and brown sugar, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes until caramelized. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
4. Stir in melted butter, granulated sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
7. Fold in the caramelized walnuts gently.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
9. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 7 days.

Reheating

Reheat slices in the microwave for about 15 seconds or in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
