Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons ice water
5 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough clumps together.
4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and fit into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim excess dough.
5. In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
6. Arrange the apple slices in a circular pattern on the crust.
7. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
8. Drizzle caramel sauce over the baked tart while still warm.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Storage

Store the tart in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat individual slices in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
