Cabbage Rolls

These delightful cabbage rolls are brimming with a luscious blend of ground beef, rice, and fragrant herbs, all enveloped in tender cabbage leaves and simmered in a robust tomato sauce.

Ingredients

1 large head cabbage
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup uncooked white rice
1 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups canned tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Core the cabbage and boil until leaves are soft, about 8 minutes.
3. In a bowl, combine ground beef, rice, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper.
4. Lay a cabbage leaf flat and place 1/4 cup of beef mixture in the center. Roll up and place in a baking dish, seam-side down.
5. In another bowl, mix tomato sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
6. Pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls.
7. Cover with foil and bake for 1.5 hours until cabbage is tender and filling is cooked through.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20 minutes or until heated through.
