Buttermilk Herb Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
3/4 cup buttermilk, cold
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add the cold, diced butter into the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Stir in the chopped herbs.
5. Make a well in the center and pour in the cold buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently to bring it together.
7. Roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
8. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, slightly touching each other.
9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
10. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Storage

Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Reheating

To reheat, wrap biscuits in aluminum foil and warm them in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-7 minutes.
