BBQ Baked Beans

Ingredients

4 slices of bacon
1 large onion, diced
3 cans (15 oz each) of navy beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup of BBQ sauce
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of molasses
2 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and crumble when cool.
3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion in the bacon drippings until softened.
4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked onions, crumbled bacon, navy beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until the beans are bubbly and the sauce is thickened.
7. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftover BBQ Baked Beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating

To reheat, place beans in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through. Alternatively, microwave in a microwave-safe dish for 2-3 minutes.
